Board of Directors
Mathew Cummings, President
Mathew Cummings has always been inspired by the impact architecture could have on individual lives and communities. This passion is what drove Mathew to pursue his formal education at the Boston Architectural College, while simultaneously working for Hayes Engineering, Zarelli Architects and Seimasko Architects.
In 1999 Mathew hung out his own shingle in the historic town of Ipswich, Massachusetts, home to the Cummings family for more than 100 years. From day one, Mathew has pursued his dream of changing people’s lives through architecture and has built a reputation of doing just that with more than 400 projects to his name.
Mathew’s passion for architecture extends beyond the drawing table—his memberships and accomplishments include:
- Boston Society of Architects
- American Institute of Architects
- Founder of the BSA Residential Design Committee
- Vice President of the Ipswich Museum 2009-2011
- Ipswich Historic Commission 2003-2006
- Ipswich Historic Society Trustee 2006-2008
Outside of architecture, Mathew spends his time being the best dad he can be. He enjoys time with his extended family at the Scottish Highland Games and continues the tradition of wearing the kilt and playing the bagpipes with his father and son.
